When Jews and Christians Worshipped Together
It is well known that Christianity emerged out of Judaism in the first century CE. But what do we know about the dynamics of the Jewish world at that time? How did the People of the Jerusalem Temple (with its focus on animal sacrifices) become the People of the Book (Torah)? What sectarian divisions and rivalries (Sinat Chinam) existed during that period? How distinct were early Jewish-Christians from the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes / Dead Sea Scrolls sect, and others? Join us for this fascinating exploration on how Christianity branched from Jewish roots.
