Tonight, Rabbi Arik will usher in Tu B’Shevat.
Tu B’shvat and the Tree of Life
The Hebrew month of Shevat brings our attention to trees. Not only the life sustaining trees and plants that surround us every day, and the vast network of intelligent root systems communicating beneath our feet. Tu B’shvat also brings us into connection with the ultimate source of life and being, which comes into the world through its own system of roots and branches. For the Kabbalists, this holiday takes on a cosmic significance. It is an invitation to restore our relationship to the Tree of Life, whose roots are in heaven and whose fruits are this world. In this celebration of Tu B’Shvat, we will explore ways in which we can connect and restore our relationship to both the physical and the spiritual aspects of the Tree of Life.
