Join Jacqui Blue, Michael Fish PhD and Renee Greene for a candid panel and conversation about suicide.
Tonight’s panel will talk about suicide and the increase in suicide as a result of the pandemic. The panel will also offer suggestions about how to help a person who is depressed and suicidal. The panel members will each speak briefly and then take questions from the participants.
Jacqui Blue, Director and Producer of the Documentary film I Chose Life, will discuss her latest film and the suicide crisis, domestic abuse and the increase in both as a result of Covid. After the discussion and question and answer period, she will lead us in a relaxing meditation to help us step outside of our quarantine stress.
Jacqui Blue is a filmmaker, hypnotherapist and writer raising her five sons in Southern California. She has a lifetime background in theater and writing. She released her first documentary film in 2014, Beautiful Births. She went on to work with Jared Padalecki & T.O.N.E-z in her documentary addressing the suicide crisis, I Chose Life. (IChoseLifeFilm.com) In 2016, she was also asked to be co-author on the Fear Free Childbirth free e-book. In 2018, Jacqui graduated with honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and became a Hypnotherapist specializing in childbirth, past life regressions, artist memory recall, relationship recovery & narcissist abuse and writer’s block.
Dr. Michael Fish, your neighborhood psychologist, has been in private practice for thirty years in Davie, Florida. His years of experience enable him to work successfully with clients with a variety of issues and help produce long term results.
Renee J Greene graduated from University of Florida in Gainesville in March 1976 with a BS Majoring in Broadcast and Communications and Minoring in Psychology. She graduated from Nova University Friedt School of Business in 1987 with a MS in Human Service Administration and Business Psychology. She is certified as a Life Coach, Gestalt Therapist and Notary.
She currently is the Financial Director of Temple Adath Or and has been a consultant to TAO for almost 17 years. Prior to coming to work here, Renee worked in the Mental Health field , owned a commercial catering business and worked with several Jewish Non-profits in Regional Director Capacity including United Synagogue, B’nai Brith and Hadassah.
After the suicide of her only brother Steven, Renee became more interested in suicide and the causes and how families deal with suicide. She began speaking with families who had suffered a loss due to suicide and began studying how to respond and move on with life after the attempt or death by suicide. She appeared in the documentary film, I Chose Life, Stories of Suicide and Survival, to speak about her brother’s suicide and to memorialize his memory. Renee has also spoken in groups and to individuals on Suicide and the Ravaging Effects on Families and also How to Accept the Suicide of a Family Member and how to help others who have suffered a similar loss. Renee continues to study and learn more about suicides and why they occur and how to help others recover from loss.
