The Scroll of Esther holds a unique place in the Jewish canon. Enshrined in the Talmud with its own Tractate, we nevertheless understand that it is a fantasy, not history.
It is the only book of the Bible where God‘s name is never mentioned. A fantastical series of impossible coincidences brings a Jewish girl to the throne of Persia and into the bosom of its king. And just in case this isn’t amazing enough, we have a “hidden” reincarnation situation at the very center of the story!
Come and hear the story of the Megillah like you’ve never heard it before, especially not in Hebrew school!!
Ruz Gulko is a passionate teacher of all things Jewish. Though born and raised in Canada, Ruz has resided in Seattle for more than 30 years, and is a Cantor as well as a Rabbi. She loves to work with people of all ages, and truly believes that learning and eating chocolate together could save the world.
